Father arrested for abandoning baby at Archdiocese

The father of a baby girl who was abandoned at an Archdiocese of Chicago building is charged with misdemeanor child endangerment.

James Evans reported his daughter missing nearly 19 hours after the infant was found by Archdiocese employees. He was arrested at the station.

On Thursday afternoon, two people were seen leaving the baby outside a building at Chicago Avenue and Rush Street. The baby was treated at Children's Memorial Hospital and is now in the custody of the Department of Children and Family Services.
