May 23, 2011 (ROCKFORD, Ill.)

Winds topping nearly 70 miles per hour snapped a number of trees in the Rockford area. Some of the trees landed on power lines and buildings.

One person was hurt when a tree landed on a home.

The strong winds also lifted away part of the roof of a middle school.

In the town of Bradley, Ill., a worker at a Walmart was transported to a hospital after being hit by lightning.

The fire department confirms the worker was pushing carts in the parking lot when she was struck.
