State senators send Quinn budget with cuts

The Illinois Senate has sent Governor Quinn a budget that cuts approximately $1.6 billion from his original proposal.

However, the governor could use his veto powers to make changes.

The spring legislative session is scheduled to end Tuesday night. If it does not, new rules will kick in that would give the Republican minority a say in what passes and what does not.
