Study: Flu shots benefit pregnant women most during flu season

For decades doctors have recommended that pregnant women get a seasonal flu shot and a new study takes a closer look at the benefits.

The study found infants born to vaccinated moms were 40% less likely to be premature and 69% less likely to be of low birth weight.

The vaccine benefit was seen only in those born during the flu season between October 1st and May 31st.
