A new community center being built on Chicago's Near North Side will become the new home for the Jesse White Tumbling Team.

The groundbreaking took place Wednesday afternoon in the 400 block of West Chicago Avenue.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel joined Secretary of State Jesse White. Members of the Jesse White Tumblers performed.

The new Jesse White Community Center will feature a gymnasium, locker rooms, computer labs, and a community meeting area. Funding comes from the city of Chicago, park district, and the Jesse White foundation.
