A West Aurora High School teacher accused of having sexual contact with two students appears in court Thursday.

Stephen Orland, 42, is charged with criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

According to Aurora police, on multiple occasions after Aug. 1, 2010, Orland had sexual contact with two students. The victims were under the age of 18 during some of the contact, police said.

According to court records, the contact took place on Jan. 1, 2011. West Aurora School District Spokesman Mike Chapin said that there was no school-sponsored band trip that took place on Jan. 1. The district's students were not in class because of the holiday.
