Police investigate reported attack near UIC campus

Chicago police say they are investigating the attempted sexual abuse of a student near the University of Illinois-Chicago campus.

The female student says she was walking in the 800-block of W. 16th Street early Thursday morning when three men approached.

One grabbed at her and tore her blouse.

A person in a car driving by slowed down and the men ran off.

A university spokesperson said an alert has been sent out to all students.
