It happened around 8:30 this morning in the 2000-block of W. Monroe near the United Center. The officer reportedly shot the man, who then got behind the wheel of a vehicle and tried to strike an officer with it.
The officer was treated and released. There was no word Sunday afternoon on the condition of the man police shot.
