The man Rod Blagojevich named to replace President Obama in the U.S. Senate has lost an appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The high court turned away an appeal from former Sen. Roland Burris Monday morning.

Burris had argued that he was entitled to appear on the general election ballot and wanted the Supreme Court to overturn the special election that put Republican Mark Kirk in the seat.
