Police fatally shoot man on South Side

It started when officers responded to a call of a domestic battery in the 6200-block of South Wolcott.

Investigators say 29-year-old Flint Farmer was running from the scene and pointed what was believed to be a weapon at officers. Police opened fire, killing Farmer.

The Chicago Tribune reports he had a cell phone and no gun was found.

The Independent Police Review Authority is investigating.
