Man injured in police-involved shooting

The Independent Police Review Authority is investigating a police-involved shooting that took place on Chicago's West Side.

At about 6 p.m. Wednesday, officers tried to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation near Washington and Hamlin.

Police say the offender got out of the vehicle and pointed a weapon at officers. Police shot the suspect and he was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.

No officers were injured.
