June 11, 2011 (ORLAND PARK, Ill.)

On Saturday, Jon Adams, of 13941 Green Valley Drive in Orland Park, Ill., and Mathias Padalino, of 1629 W. Sherwin in Chicago, Ill., were charged with financial institution robbery, the release said.

On August 20, 2010, the release says that Orland Park Police officers responded to a bomb threat at the Chase Bank located at 15100 Lagrange Road. They were advised that a suitcase was placed along side of the building with directions that needed to be followed. Due to the suspicious nature of the suitcase, the bank and surrounding area was secured and the Cook County Bomb Squad was notified.

Upon the scene being secured, a note was discovered within the suitcase, the release said. The note directed the manager of the bank to place $4 million into the suitcase and deliver it to Union Station in Chicago. Police said the note also indicated that if the demands were not met that several bombs, surrounding the bank and in the suitcase would be triggered.

Adams was given a $75,000 bond and Padalino was given a $50,000 bond at the Bridgeview Courthouse. Both subjects were transported to Cook County Jail pending a June 28 court date.
