Urban life may be bad for mental health

A brain scanning study may help scientists understand why.

Researchers studied the brains of volunteers as they were exposed to stress. They found certain areas were more active in people who lived in cites or who grew up in urban areas.

The report in the journal Nature might help explain why previous research linked city living to the risk of getting schizophrenia and other mental disorders.
