Gov. Pat Quinn OKs new congressional districts

Gov. Pat Quinn signed the congressional district remap that was drawn up by Illinois Democrats.

The remap is required every 10 years after the census. Illinois is losing one seat in the House because of population changes.

Illinois Democrats control the House and Senate, so they had control of the remap. Republicans call it a highly partisan map that they say disrespects the will of the voters. They plan to challenge it in court.
