'Englewood Flyover' to bring jobs to South Side

Congressman Bobby Rush says a deal to build the so-called ''Englewood Flyover'' was signed Friday and work should begin this construction season.

The flyover will be constructed at 63rd and State streets. It will allow Metra trains to travel over the Amtrak and Norfolk Southern tracks, reducing the bottlenecks that happen now.

Rush says he's thrilled that a deal has been reached.

"We're bringing jobs, 1,400 jobs. We're bringing federal dollars into the South Side of Chicago -- $133 million," Rush said.

Rush says the project will also provide health and environmental benefits by cutting the number of idling trains.
