Memorial held for officer killed in line of duty

The Chicago Police Department held a memorial for Officer Brian Strouse Friday night.

The 12th District officer was killed in the line of duty 10 years ago this week. Strouse was shot to death while conducting a surveillance of gang activity.

Family, friends and colleagues recognized his sacrifice at the memorial.

During his six years with the department, Officer Strouse received 61 commendations.
