She's lived at The Animal Store in Lincolnwood for the past 20 years.Spur is well known in the community, often visiting schools and senior centers.
Store owner Kenn Bearman says about 3:30 a.m., someone broke the glass on the front door, reached into the tortoise's pen and took her.
Bearman says Spur needs a special diet and living conditions or she could become sick, and he warns she can be quite messy.
He's asking anyone with information to call police.
