Board to vote on Oak Forest Hospital conversion

The Illinois health planning board will hold a public hearing Thursday on Cook County's revised proposal to convert Oak Forest Hospital into an outpatient care center.

The meeting will be held at Oak Forest City Hall.

The board rejected the county's first request to close the facility in an effort to save money. They are now pushing a revised plan which includes a 24-hour immediate care center.

Oak Forest Hospital continues to operate but with scaled-back services.
