Man struck by lightning in Grayslake

Officials say the man was struck in front of Landscape Concepts at in the 31700-block of North Alleghany. He was part a crew loading up to go a job site when the lightning hit. One of his co-workers says there are lightning rods around the business.

"The lightning struck one of our lightning rods and energized the area and shocked him but he was OK. We were able to get him to ambulance and get him taken care of," said the victim's co-worker Phil Moore.

The Grayslake fire chief says the 35-year-old victim was transported to Condell Hospital in stable condition.
