Relatives say Gabby Drozdz was walking along Church Street Friday night, headed to the Alpine Fest, when she and two friends were struck by a light colored SUV.
Drozdz died from her injuries. The other girls suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Relatives say Drozdz was expected to graduate from Lake Zurich High School a semester early. She wanted to study nursing at the College of Lake County. They describe Drozdz as charasmatic and fun to be around.
"She loved her friends. They came over yesterday, and they were telling us how much she loved her family," said the victim's sister Ilona Gregory.
Drozdz's relatives say there should have been more lighting along the busy street where the crash happened.
