Classes haven't started yet, but Thursday Chicago Public School students got a lesson they can run with.

U.S. Olympian Ryan Hall led students involved in local fitness programs on a run along the lakefront. Hall offered them advice about training for running events and talked about the importance of giving back to the community.

Hall will compete in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon in October. He says prize money earned there will be donated to his non-profit organization that supports anti-poverty programs in Kenya.

Hall is training for the 2012 Olympics.
