Truck co. involved in Amtrak crash countersues

July 31, 2011 (CHICAGO)

The Amtrak train was going from Chicago to the San Francisco Bay Area on June 24 when a truck crashed through the crossing gates near Reno, Nev. and into the train.

Six people died, including the truck driver.

The Reno Gazette-Journal now reports John Davis Trucking claims Amtrak and Union Pacific did not have a safe railroad crossing at the site.

Amtrak and several crash victims and relatives are suing John Davis Trucking, saying it was negligent.
