Winnetka residents fed up after recent flooding

August 2, 2011 (WINNETKA, Ill.)

Dozens of basements were flooded with up to 7 inches of water.

Winnetka officials in June called for storm sewer improvements. But residents said they are fed up with the flooding.

"It's getting to a critical point because the taxes here are horrendously expensive and we do everything we can. And I love Winnetka but this is insane," said resident Katherine Veach.

Winnetka officials are polling residents to help authorities determine if state or federal disaster funds will be available to property owners as a result of the storm.
