White Sox host Mayor Daley Night

August 3, 2011 (CHICAGO)

It's Mayor Daley Night at U.S. Cellular Field. Before the game with the New York Yankees, the Sox presented Richard Daley with the 2011 Roland Hemond Award for his 22 years of service to the city of Chicago.

The former mayor also threw out the ceremonial first pitch.

"I was born a White Sox fan. I have great memories of my mother and father being here and my family," Daley said.

The team will also display a commemorative World Series brick at the stadium in honor of Mayor and Maggie Daley's service to the city.
