Thousands attend Hispanic Business Expo

August 4, 2011 (CHICAGO)

It's estimated that 5,000 people attended this year's event at Navy Pier. More than 125 exhibition booths and 10 free business workshops were available to for participants.

U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., emphasized the importance of reducing the country's deficit.

"While we need to invest and spend on the one side of this equation to improve the economy, on the other side, we know we have to get our house in order. we have to do this in a thoughtful and sensible way," Durbin said.

ABC7's Stacey Baca served as emcee for the expo for the second straight year.
