A teenage golfing phenom from northwest suburban Arlington Heights appears to be well on his way to a spectacular career.

Doug Ghim, 15, was ranked the world's eighth best golfer of the 2014 graduating class by Golfweek magazine.

The Buffalo Grove high school sophomore placed higher than anyone else in the state at the 94th Western Junior Championship at the Beverly Country Club in June.

ABC 7's news partner, the Daily Herald, reports Ghim's grace under pressure comes from years of practice.

He has been hitting the links with his family since he was five years old.
