After a two-year battle with City Hall, a West Side hot dog stand finally got to put up its sign Thursday.

That sign is for Felony Franks. The hot dog stand hires former convicts and gives them a chance to start an honest life.

Second Ward Alderman Robert Fioretti fought to prevent the establishment from putting up a street sign. He felt the name would give the neighborhood a bad image.

The City Council approved the sign after the owner filed a federal lawsuit. The lawsuit is still pending.
