Police vehicle catches fire on Bishop Ford

Two Chicago police officers were transporting a prisoner when their vehicle caught fire and burst into flames on an expressway.

It happened Sunday night at approximately 11:15 p.m. on the Bishop Ford near King Drive. Police say the engine caught fire.

All three people managed to get out of the burning vehicle without injury.

The incident stopped southbound traffic for nearly two hours.

All lanes were open again Monday morning.
