GPS device leads police to Evanston bank heist suspect

Police tracked two suspects through the GPS hidden in a bag of money.

One robber reportedly held up a Bank of America branch on Chicago Avenue in the northern suburb. The other was in the getaway vehicle.

After the robbery, the FBI and Chicago Police tracked the money bag in a van heading south on Lake Shore Drive. They caught up with the suspect in the 8100-block of South Yates.

Police apparently recovered the money and a fake handgun.
