Trooper Gary Runde was taking his dinner break Sunday night at a restaurant in Crown Point when a woman began choking.
Runde administered emergency abdominal thrusts, and after three or four efforts the food was dislodged and the woman began breathing on her own.
The woman was taken to a hospital by ambulance to be checked out.
