Illinois Governor Pat Quinn says a major infrastructure project on Chicago's Far South Side will create more than 1,200 jobs over the next four years.

Quinn made the announcement Monday at the Ford Motor assembly plant on South Torrence.

The $146 million project will create an underpass to undo the intersection of train tracks and roads near the plant.

The bottleneck reportedly causes 200 hours of delays for the 32,000 vehicles that pass through daily.

The project is scheduled to be finished by 2015.
