A jury has awarded more than $1 million to a Cary family whose daughter was killed in a head-on crash.

Twenty-five-year-old Sylvia Krawiec died back in October 2007 when a truck driven by Lucinda Slensby veered into oncoming traffic on Route 31 in McHenry County.

Prosecutors argued that Slensby fell asleep behind the wheel.

This week's trial was based on damages only because Slensby, who was 67 at the time of the crash, admitted fault in the crash.
