A suburban Elmwood Park man is charged with impersonating a police officer after investigators say he fired a gun and flashed a badge at a gas station.

Chicago Police arrested Nicholas Rada at gas station on the city's Northwest Side early Thursday. They say the man was sitting in a car with two flat tires with a handgun in his pocket and a gold badge on his car console.

A security guard at the gas station told police Rada had fired his gun when another man approached him.

Rada also faces drug and weapons charges.
