The crash happened August 1st in the northbound lane of Route 53 in Rolling Meadows. Marcin Niespuj died from injuries he received from the crash on Thursday.
Police say Niespuj was changing a flat tire in the left median when Kelly Luch, 23, lost control of her car and hit a tractor trailer truck in the center lane.
Luch's car then struck Niespuj's car, pinning him between the median and the car.
Luch received three citations, including one for texting and driving.
