The accident happened Saturday at 124th and State Street, in the West Pullman neighborhood.
Dominique Gilbert, 23 months old, was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. She and her grandma were in a crosswalk when the van hit them.
The driver, Dana Cross, 45, has been cited with failure to yield to a pedestrian in the crosswalk.
