The organization is offering two complimentary seminars to help parents and students stay on task when it comes to applying for college, but also how to pay for it.
College Planning Checklist:
August and September are very busy for high school seniors who have more immediate needs. To stay on track you can be sure to do the following so you are not playing catch up:
- Work on college applications, ask teachers for letters of recommendation
- Register for the SAT and/or ACT tests
- Choose 3-6 colleges and send applications in a range of likely to be accepted to competitive
Freshmen and sophomores also have work to do:
- Begin to use websites to help you learn about careers, colleges and financial assistance options
- Ask your guidance counselor about taking PSAT and preliminary SAT
- Discuss college as a family and begin to explore which options fit what you are looking to accomplish
