They were treated to a special meal made by Chef Thomas Leavitt, who used fresh ingredients from the Windsor Elementary School Sensory Garden in Arlington Heights.
Students planted the seeds back in the spring And watched the fruits and vegetables grow. They recently harvested giant zucchini, watermelons, spaghetti squash and purple potatoes. On Friday, they got to taste a portion of the sensory garden.
All food from the garden that was not served Friday will be donated.
