Chicago's North Side showed its Pakistani pride Sunday as part of the 47th annual Pakistan Independence Parade.

The parade traveled down a stretch of Devon Avenue through the Rogers Park neighborhood.

Light rain did not dampen the spirit of the celebration, which marks Pakistan's independence from British rule back in 1947.

Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle served as the grand marshal for the parade.
