'Girl Scout Gathering Place' opening in Loop

September 19, 2011 (CHICAGO)

The Girl Scout Gathering Place was scheduled to open Monday at 20 South Clark Street in the city's Loop.

U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin is among those expected to speak at the dedication, which honors 10 decades of Girl Scout roots in Chicago.

The dedication of the new space also reflects the Girl Scouts' commitment to providing girls with leadership development opportunities to prepare them for tomorrow's world.
