Fourteen-year-old Patrick Mizwicki attended Lincoln-Way East High School. Family, his teammates and other students attended the service in Frankfort.
Mizwicki died last Thursday while training with his cross country team along a horse trail in unincorporated Palos Township.
Police say the driver of the car that struck Mizwicki was not speeding but did receive minor traffic citations.
