The 10-year-old was heading home from TE Culbertson Elementary last week when two men approached her on the Old Plank Road Trail near Peale Street. They told her to drop her belongings.
The girl dropped her backpack and tried to run.
Police say one of the men kicked her to the ground. The other dragged her by her feet until she was able to kick him in the face.
The girl ran to a nearby house where police were called. She was not injured.
