Cell phone users warned about ID theft scams

September 23, 2011

Transunion says the ruse involves phone users receiving a message stating that their credit card has been deactivated. They are then asked to call a number where a recorded message asks the caller for their 16-digit card number and more personal information.

Transunion says anyone who gets one of these messages should immediately call their bank or credit card company.
