Cook County Sheriff's deputies are conducting high school programs to remind teens the dangers of driving impaired or while texting.

The current program is timed to coincide with homecoming at area schools. Tuesday at Marist High School students drove golf carts while texting and also while wearing special goggles to show how difficult it is.

They also wore the goggles while trying to walk a straight line to simulate alcohol impairment.

This special sheriff's unit is conducting these demonstrations at high schools across Cook County.
