ABC7's news partner The Daily Herald reports the pools do not comply with a 2008 federal law requiring drains that won't trap swimmers underwater.
Community High School District 128 administrators were notified of the issue last year but failed to take care of the matter by an October 1 deadline.
Administrators say the needed repair work could cost as much as $125,000.
