Gambling expansion compromise proposed

September 29, 2011 (CHICAGO)

State Senator Terry Link (D, Waukegan) told ABC 7 this morning he and fellow gambling expansion proponents have put together a series of revisions that he hopes will answer Governor Pat Quinn's concerns. The Governor has previously said he will mot support the bill passed over the summer, which green lights three new land-based casinos for Chicago and the suburbs as well as slot machines at race tracks.

Sen. Link now says he thinks his revisions will address the Governor's concerns about integrity and expansion, but Link would not provide details. He said the revised bill will be submitted during the Legislature's fall veto session which begins at the of October.
