The book will follow in his father's footsteps -- the late Mayor Richard J. Daley. He was the subject of the famous biography "Boss" by newspaper columnist Mike Royko.
Now the younger Daley will be the subject of a book titled "First Son: The Biography of Richard M. Daley" by Chicago writer Keith Koeneman. It will be published by the University of Chicago Press.
A University of Chicago Press spokeswoman says Daley has not agreed to be interviewed for the book, which is expected to be published in 2013.
Daley is the longest serving mayor in Chicago history. He stepped down earlier this year after 22 years.
