GM to install air bag between front seats

September 30, 2011

GM will be the first automaker to install an air bag in between the front seats.

The "front center" air bag is designed to protect drivers and front-seat passengers during side-impact crashes. It's also expected to provide added protection during a rollover crash.

The new air bag will be introduced in the GMC Acadia, the Chevrolet Traverse and the Buick Enclave.
