The Evergreen Park and Golf Course is located at 91st Street and Western Avenue.
Some people living in the area object, saying they don't want the course and the large oak trees to be destroyed. Additionally, they say the area is already coping with heavy traffic.
A spokesperson with Sterling Bay says 50 acres of the 100-acre site will remain green space. The company has also said the shopping center will bring jobs and tax revenue to the neighborhood.
