At least a dozen vehicles were involved in a chain reaction crash on Interstate 55 Tuesday morning, just north of where the highway crosses over the Kankakee River.

The crash started when two vehicles collided near Blodgett Road.

State police say fog on the bridge apparently made visibility poor, causing at least 10 other vehicles to collide.

There were several injuries, including one person who was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries.
