UofC on alert after pair of robberies near campus

October 10, 2011 (CHICAGO)

In both cases, students were robbed at gunpoint of their cell phones and laptops.

Campus police say the first robbery happened about 11:35 p.m. as two students walked along 57th Street near Dorchester.

Then, about 30 minutes later, another student was allegedly robbed by a group of Three males near 57th and Ellis Avenue.

It is not known if the robberies are connected. Police are reviewing surveillance video.
